Update 12/19/2014 8:00 am: The Mayor and Metro Council have come to a middle-ground. The new minimum wage will be $9, after the Mayor stated he would veto a $10.10 proposal. via MSNBC

According to Business First,

“Louisville Metro Council’s Labor and Economic Development Committee voted 3-2 in favor an ordinance that would raise the city’s minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $10.10 an hour by 2017 this afternoon.”

“Rowland also said in the memo that a minimum wage increase would lead to roughly $574,000 in additional employee costs for the city if it was effective during fiscal 2014.”
