Amazon.com Opening Jeffersonville Warehouse – Hiring over 1,000

Amazon.com Jeffersonville Warehouse

Amazon.com will open a fifth mega-warehouse in Indiana, this one in Jeffersonville, where as many as 1,050 full-time workers will be hired.

The Seattle-based online retailer, which has taken a liking to Indiana for its past refusal to force collection of online sales taxes, will spend $150 million to build the warehouse on a 70-acre site across the Ohio River from Louisville, Ky.

It’s already under construction and will open in the fall. Employment is expected to surge to as many as 3,200 workers on two shifts during the peak holiday season. [via IndyStar]
